Tea in the United States covers everything from a traditional Chinese or Japanese tea house to a Southern sweet-tea counter, and the fastest-growing segment is bubble tea: Taiwanese-style milk teas and fruit teas with tapioca pearls, sold by chains and independents alike with adjustable sugar and ice levels. Tea rooms serving afternoon tea with scones and sandwiches usually require a reservation, while boba shops, juice bars and smoothie shops are walk-in and quick. Kava and kombucha bars are a newer category, and loose-leaf tea stores sell blends, teaware and gifts, often with a tasting counter. Prices for a drink run similar to coffee-shop prices, with premium teas and cold-pressed juices at the high end.

Phillipsburg is in New Jersey, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Phillipsburg follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Taking African Herbalism 101 was truly a transformative experience! This course didn’t just teach me about herbs—it reconnected me to the deep wisdom of my ancestors and their powerful traditions of healing. I walked away with a profound appreciation for the knowledge passed down through generations, and how that ancestral wisdom still holds so much relevance today. The material was presented in a way that was both easy to understand and deeply engaging. I never felt overwhelmed—just inspired. Every lesson opened a new door, not just into the physical uses of herbs, but also into mental and spiritual healing. It truly felt like a holistic approach to wellness, rooted in culture, history, and purpose. Professor Brown is absolutely wonderful! Their warm personality, passion for the subject, and genuine care for the students made the experience even more meaningful. You can really feel her heart and wisdom in every session❤️❤️. This experience was once of a lifetime! All of the wisdom and knowledge I’ve learned from this African Herbalism course was amazing! Professor Brown is amazing and she is very knowledgeable, kind, and patient! Everything that I have learned about different herbs and their benefits I will cherish and take with me forever and teach those that are willing to absorb and listen. What I loved most was that this whole experience was “for us by us”! Professor brown reminds me of my aunties that I grew up around when I was younger that would always make sure I was safe and kept me protected from harm and made sure I knew right from wrong. I can’t wait to take more courses! I’m excited! Much love to the best Professor ever! I’m also ready to purchase herbs and teas from her beautiful bar!!!

Had the pleasure of visiting an amazing new business Tshikovi Tea House in Phillipsburg NJ. Besides the rich taste & aroma of the tea, the pretty packaging & presentation will definitely pull you in. Growing up seeing women of color on packaging wasn’t a thing, fast forward today Founder Owner Yvette thought enough of women of color to make it a reality. I love the thoughtfulness of the whole space, from the colorful vintage like couch, lovely cool calm music serenading you while you shop, one of my favorite features of this establishment were the framed images on the walls celebrating African American Artists. Even the pretty flowers protruding out of the tops of body forms was a unique touch. Besides the owner Yvette being an absolute delight to be around, she’s extremely well versed on every single herb, ingredient & tea blend she creates. Yvette also hosts tea tours for small groups to learn more about her teas, special honeys & how they can benefit ones mental & or physical health. Overall this business is definitely an experience worth experiencing!
